This email is to ask you (1) whether you'd be interested in parteciping to the organization of this event, and (2) whether you could help us communicate the event on your own communication channels. Here's the video of the call: http://vimeo.com/34326081 ---- There is a major initiative in the making to connect FabLabs, Hackerspaces and similar maker places across Europe and make them easily accessible to artists of all walks of life. To get this idea going and to gather European fabbers, makers and hackers, an event will be held alongside FutureEverything in May 2012 -- see the announcement below. This will be a mainly crowd sourced, crowd organized event, facilitated by the initiators of above initiative. FutureEverything and X are seeking expressions of interest from digital manufacturers to contribute to FAB-✱ Manchester, the first European FabLabs Summit. Taking place as part of FutureEverything 2012 in Manchester, England, the event will run as part of the annual festival from 16-19 May 2012 alongside the main conference and the established Handmade Digital Craft event. FAB-✱ Manchester seeks to bring together all of the digital manufacturing community in Europe with a view to establishing an exchange network among EU FabLabs. With Fab conferences taking place in far away places, this will be your chance to showcase and discuss what you're all about in Manchester's incredible historic venues, Victoria Baths and the Museum of Science and Industry, at the UK's leading festival of digital culture. We are seeking a crowd-sourced programme with contributions from any and all labs all over Europe. To submit an expression of interest or suggest a topic for presentation simply fill out the expression of interest form at http://bit.ly/eufabsummit DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS - Friday 27th January 2012 - 12 noon. -- - Jiddu Krishnamurti: If we can really understand the problem, the answer will come out of it, because the answer is not separate from the problem. - http://karounos.gr/blog/
