Hi Kat, Laura and Charalampos,

@Laura thanks for making the introductions! I have also coordinated
with our director, Theodoros Karounos and our community coordinator,
Nikos Roussos whom I m also ccing to follow the discussion, and we
hope GFOSS could assist OKF's Greek chapter.

@Kat this is indeed a really small world :) I m spending my time
between Athens and London working for GFOSS and LSE respectively :)

@Charalampos these are really great news :)) Besides Marinos's
involvement, we could provide assistance in the following areas:

- we could provide input for the Open Data Handbook specifically to be
addressed to Greek civil servants (both technical and legal sides)
For that purpose we could arrange a lab at the Greek School of
National Public Administration
- assist in in the coordination of relevant events and activities of
OKFN Greece in Athens :)

- assist in any events you would like to organise in Athens or through
the network of other organisations in Greece
- provide input and expert advice on specific issues/ causes you may
be pursuing (e.g. anti-ACTA events, pro-open data legislative reforms,
IPR law revisions etc, collecting societies issues etc)

- GFOSS is a non-profit, whose stakeholders and effectively owners are
all Greek Universities and research institutions as well as NGOs such
as HELUG.  In general we are trying to bring together as many as
possible of the various "open" communities in Greece and link to
international networks and we already have collaborations and MoUs
with CC, OLPC, wikipedia, FSF Europe, FABLabs and disseminate
information regarding their work and we would be very interested in
collaborating with OKFN Greece as well. The collaborating of GFOSS
with OKFN Greece is a valuable step to our mutual benefit .

Please let me know if there is anything else we could help you with.

All the best,
pRo
