Make sure to join the ckan-dev list <ckan.org/developers/mailing-lists/> and let it know when you are done, or if you have any problems. On case studies etc, the following might be useful: CKAN instances around the world: http://ckan.org/instances/ Detailed case studies: ckan.org/case-studies/ CKAN certainly seems a good fit for HOMER. Its APIs are a particularly strong feature, and could certainly be used to support catalogue federation. Again, you may get some more helpful suggestions and answers to your questions on the mailing lists.
