Greetings, GFOSS team. As part of GSoC 2025, I'd like to contribute to OpenTRIM (https://github.com/ir2-lab/OpenTRIM), in accordance with the proposed ideas page on the wiki. I am a hobbyist C++ programmer with 5 years of experience in C++ and Qt. I don't have much formal schooling and am just starting out in open source, so I'm looking for alternative ways to demonstrate my abilities, such as directly contributing to OpenTRIM. I wouldn't mind starting work on user-defined tallies right away, but Google's GSoC rules specify that "any work done on the project prior to acceptance of the project proposal will not be considered for evaluations." Are there any areas out of scope of the GSoC projects where OpenTRIM needs improvement?
Looking forward to your response,
Gabriel
