Hello, My name is Saptami Biswas and I am a B.Tech student in Electrical Engineering at NIT Agartala, India. I am interested in contributing to the "Command & Data Handling Software for Open-Source CubeSat FlatSat Testbed" project for GSoC 2026. I have started exploring the repository: https://github.com/omega-space-group/orion-cubesat-testbed From my understanding, the repository currently defines the architecture and subsystem layout for the FlatSat platform (flight software, middleware, ground segment, and hardware configuration), but most components are still in early development. I am currently preparing a documentation improvement PR that clarifies the system architecture and data flow between the following components: - Flight software (C&DH / EPS / payload) - CSP over CAN communication - Zenoh middleware for payload data - Ground segment Actually i was understanding the codebase of the project , i have workked on project drone dtection for it's charging location. I would appreciate guidance from mentors regarding: from the repository structure it seems the project is still defining the architecture for the FlatSat platform. Do you expect the development to start primarily from the,C&DH / flight software layer, or from supporting infrastructure such as simulation and middleware? and for the communication layer, should contributors plan to integrate existing libraries like libcsp, or is the intention to develop custom interfaces tailored for this platform?
