πρόβλημα ήταν στο πρόγραμμα
ηλεκ. αλληλογραφίας του Thomas, αντί στο input method (GTK+ IM).

No, this appears to be a bug in the tools you are using, Thomas. When I
copy & paste pieces of Simos' mail into GNU clisp, I get:

You are right, the characters from my own mail get mangled the same way:
"µ" (U+00B5 MICRO SIGN) rather than
"µ" (U+03BC GREEK SMALL LETTER MU)
It's not my tools but must be some mail gateway in between
(probably this rotten μsoft xchange server),
but anyway, sorry for having bothered you with this.
