Fostering trust and quality of Open Source Software systems Rome, 16-17 January 2008Major Industry players consider today Open Source as part of their R&D operations. European Community, China and Brazil governmental organizations consider also OSS as a key opportunity for the development of a strong Software Industry. Nevertheless, there is still reluctance to massive adoption of OSSdevelopment mainly due to lack of confidence. The "grey areas" of OSS which cause major concerns to Industry are mainly legal aspects, quality aspects business issues. This 2-days conference will focus on the challenges that the OSS model introduces while being integrated in industry strategies. The conference will approach Open Source from three complementary angles. The first part will be dedicated to present the politicians and the industry view.
