Addressing the needs of this society without burdening it is a complex task which requires different approaches. The field of computational sustainability although new in nomenclature has been applied in our society since the use of optimisation strategies and efficiency planning in computer science itself. Nevertheless, the current developments in the internet of things, smart-cities and intelligent environments propose new opportunities which can be used to the benefit of this society. Topics that can address computational sustainability are characterised by the dimensions that they act upon. Taking the definition of Sustainability these are environment, economic and social. However, it not uncommon that applications span across dimensions such as human well-being, human behaviour and activity tracking, city transportation systems, city buildings management, renewable energy and energy efficiency. In order to achieve these solutions, approaches from computational sustainability often include machine learning, constraint reasoning and optimisation, sensor fusion, autonomous systems, among others. This workshop has, as its main objective, to demonstrate new and original research on the topics related to computational sustainability applied to intelligent environments and smart-cities. Furthermore, techniques for design, assessment, monitoring and actuation to increase efficiency and optimisation are expected as general contributions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Topics of interest include, although are not limited to: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Computational Sustainability; Smart-Cities; User-Awareness; Information Diffusion; Ubiquitous Computing; Sensor Networks; Energy Efficiency; Planning and Scheduling; Game Theory and Economic, Environmental and Social Paradigms; Applications for Computational Sustainability; Multi-agent Systems; Human-Computation; Participatory sensing --------------------------------- Important Dates --------------------------------- Paper submission: 1st March 2016 Notification of acceptance: 29 Apr 2016 Camera Ready: 20 May 2016 --------------------------------- Submission Guidelines: --------------------------------- Authors are invited to submit regular full papers no more than eight (8) pages (including any data, figures and references) in standard IEEE doublecolumn format. All papers accepted for publication in this Workshop will be published as a volume of the Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments Series of IOS Press and electronically available through ACM Digital Library. These proceedings are expected to be ISI indexed. Extended versions of the best papers accepted and presented at this Workshop may also be considered for publication at the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments or at the ICST Transactions on Future Intelligent Educational Environments. --------------------------------- Organizing Committee: --------------------------------- Fábio Silva, University of Minho, Portugal Shin'ichi Konomi, University of Tokyo, Japan Rui Costa, Ubiwhere, Portugal Cesar Analide, University of Minho, Portugal Paulo Novais, University of Minho, Portugal _______________________________________________ Announce-iacap.org mailing list Announce-iacap [ dot ] org [ at ] iacap [ dot ] org http://iacap.org:8081/mailman/listinfo/announce-iacap.org -- -- http://www.eellak.gr/, http://mycontent.ellak.gr/, http://www.creativecommons.gr, https://opengov.ellak.gr/, https://opendata.ellak.gr/, http://ma.ellak.gr/, http://mathe.ellak.gr/
