fyi... ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Nathan Kinkade <nkinkade [ at ] creativecommons [ dot ] org> Date: Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 00:10 Subject: [CCi] Translation platform change for CC: Transifex.net To: cci [ at ] lists [ dot ] ibiblio [ dot ] org Hi all, We are moving to a new, hosted translation platform at Transifex.net: http://www.transifex.net/projects/p/CC/ I feel confident that nobody will regret this move, as this new platform is *worlds* better than what we were using in most every way imaginable. This new platform is also going to ease and make more robust the ability for all of you to save your translations and then immediately see them on staging.creativecommons.org, something that was rather buggy on the old system. We are going to turn off http://translate.creativecommons.org next Thursday, July 22. If anyone is in the middle of adding translations to the old site, then I suggest halting that for now. However, any translations made on the old Pootle site will be carried over to the new site, so there is no need to worry about losing work. Because we are no longer hosting this, one side effect is that in order for you to translate on the new site you will need to create an account on Transifex.net (sorry!). Once you have created an account, write me directly to let me know your user name and I'll set up a translation "team" with you as coordinator of that language for the CC project at Transifex.net. As a coordinator you will be able to add/remove people from the team and generally manage that language. If anyone has a problem registering or working with the new platform please don't hesitate to write me directly. Note: I may be slightly slow to respond for I'll be on vacation from next Monday to Wednesday.
