Θ.Κ. -- ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Astor Nummelin Carlberg <astor [ at ] openforumeurope [ dot ] org> Date: Τετ, 6 Φεβ 2019 στις 9:22 μ.μ. Subject: Welcome to the FOSS Policy List To: ... Dear all, On behalf of OpenForum Europe, I’d like to thank all of you who attended last week’s pre-FOSDEM policy meeting. We are starting 2019 with a solid platform, from which we have the chance to share information, build new campaigns and shape the digital agenda. OFE will keep on following the Copyright Directive closely in order to Save Codeshare. We have learned during this process that we need to increase our capacity to solve problems at the source. This will mean increasing our ambition and effectiveness here in Brussels. We are moving from being reactive to proactive. More information will follow! The FOSS Policy List With this email, we are inaugurating our new and updated FOSS policy list. Some of you have been added from earlier iterations. Therefore, in order to be compliant with the current privacy laws before we formalise the list, please let us know if you would like to remain on the list by clicking the link below. CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE FOSS POLICY LIST <https://goo.gl/forms/NtDT0jZQk0zWk0aq2> OFE will share the latest updates regarding EU policy with this list. You will also be able to connect to the wider network with questions, concerns and ideas. Slides from the event For those who presented during the policy meeting, you are encouraged to share your slides to this list. You can find my slides attached! The European Elections OFE asks you to keep an eye on the European Elections in May. Nearly all of the Openness-supportive MEPs that we have worked with during the last mandate are going to leave the Parliament. Therefore, we need to build new coalitions. In order to do that, we need to do a proper mapping of the election and its results. Look for candidates: - Campaigning on Openness-related issues - Campaigning on digital issues (they don’t even have to be especially pro-Openness) - With a background in software development Please email me directly if you have found some interesting people! astor [ at ] openforumeurope [ dot ] org. Next policy meeting OFE and FSFE are planning to invite you to a second policy meeting in Brussels right after the summer. With a new European Parliament in place looking to confirm the new College of Commissioners, we will have a golden opportunity to make our voices heard in Brussels.
