My name is Poras Shrivas, a computer science student. The HELP project interests me, and I am here to discuss its purpose, so I am breaking the entire project down into five point. For now, I am trying to figure out the project, so I'll discuss the tech stacks later. Firstly, I want to get a clear understanding of the problems that the project aims to solve. In each point, I have written what I understand from the project description, along with a possible scenario in mind. Kindly review it and let me know how accurate I am. I am expecting some clarity regarding the project, and then we can move on to discussing solutions and technical aspects. - The app is an location based application consist of inbound and outbound emergency services. - Inbound Component: - It'll allow users to receive instructions remotely via their device during emergencies to quickly and easily receive help without needing to dial emergency services or navigate through complex menus. Scenario : In the case where a person is about to have a heart attack and is lucky enough to identify the signs and request help, the inbound component can assist the user by providing guidance on what to do until help arrives. This feature can help the user to manage the situation better and receive the necessary care before professional help arrives - The inbound component may also include the ability to receive warnings or alerts about dangerous situations in the user's area, such as severe weather or natural disasters Scenario : Some places are more prone to natural disasters than others, and if a user is traveling to an unknown location, they may not always be aware of potential hazards. The inbound component can address this issue by alerting the user if a potentially dangerous situation arises in their area. For example, if there is severe weather or a natural disaster in the user's vicinity, the component can notify them to take necessary precautions. Similarly, if the user is in an unfamiliar location and a sudden riot or civil unrest occurs, the inbound component can quickly notify the user to stay safe and avoid the area. This feature can provide valuable information to users and help them make informed decisions during critical situations. - Outbound Component: - It’ll automatically get triggered when it detects that something has gone wrong. In the event of an emergency, the trigger will collect all necessary information and send an SOS alert to the user's family and friends, as well as to the emergency services of the country where the user is located. Scenario : If a person is wearing a smart watch or fitness tracker and the HELP application detects a low level of oxygen, it will trigger an alert and send data to the user's friends and family, including their location, to get help immediately. Scenario : In this scenario, the outbound component is triggered by the user themselves. For example, the user can trigger the outbound component by pressing the power button four times in a dangerous situation such as a fire or robbery. This will immediately notify emergency services and the user's designated contacts with their location and other important information. - Privacy Concern: Will take user consent and use minimal amount of data required with encryption. - Plugins / add-ons: Some plugins can be added like: - A medical plugin could provide users with access to medical professionals or emergency services during a medical emergency. This could include the ability to consult with a doctor or nurse via video chat, receive medical advice or instructions. - Plugin such as language translation, disability assistance, or even support for mental health emergencies might be added. Questions: - “possibly allowing remote usage for the phone to light the flashlight for example or send a voice message.” I don't understand this line clearly. - We can send a distress message to family and friends and dial emergency numbers. What are the other ways we can request for help? Please let me know if there are any mistakes or if I have missed any important information. I am looking for guidance to fully understand the requirements of the project. ---- Λαμβάνετε αυτό το μήνυμα απο την λίστα: Λίστα αλληλογραφίας και συζητήσεων που απευθύνεται σε φοιτητές developers \& mentors έργων του Google Summer of Code - A discussion list for student developers and mentors of Google Summer of Code projects., https://lists.ellak.gr/gsoc-developers/listinfo.html Μπορείτε να απεγγραφείτε από τη λίστα στέλνοντας κενό μήνυμα ηλ. ταχυδρομείου στη διεύθυνση <gsoc-developers+unsubscribe [ at ] ellak [ dot ] gr>.
