I think you should think about the proposed solutions
a little more. Having a pool of tracers might seem fine,
but you have to keep in mind that every sub-process
will be blocked unless there is a running tracer.
How can you be sure to avoid deadlocks?
The other major issue I see is the proposed timeline:
GSoC has 29 May as "Coding officially begins!"
but you specify that, because of university exams
and other obligations, the start of development
will be July 1-9. You also indicate "summer break"
in the period 29 July - 13 August.
This will not be OK.
The broad expectations are:
- coding starts 29 May
- midterm evaluation by 14 July,
where at least half of the work must be completed,
leaving some work (and usually including documentation,
packaging, etc.) for the second half
- completed work by 28 August
If you cannot follow the published timeline,
maybe participating in GSoC is not for you this year.
