Dear GFOSS GSoC team,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is *Fares Shaaban*, and I'm
very interested in contributing to the *GlossAPI project* as part of
Google Summer of Code 2026. I'm particularly excited about the
*Needs-Driven Evolution of the Dataset Production Pipeline* project, as
it aligns perfectly with my career goals in data engineering and analysis.
My background: I have solid Python programming experience with a
foundation in OOP, and I'm familiar with Git and GitHub workflows. While
I'm new to open source contributions, I'm eager to learn and committed
to making meaningful contributions to GlossAPI.
To help me get started on the right foot, I'd appreciate your guidance
on three specific questions:
1.What is the expected mentorship structure and frequency of check-ins
during the program?
2. What would be a good "starter task" to help me familiarize myself
with the codebase and your development workflow, what preparation would
you recommend to ensure I can contribute effectively from day one?
I've already started exploring the glossAPI repository and am setting up
my local development environment. I'm committed to engaging with the
community and learning the technical skills necessary to be a strong
contributor.
Thank you for considering my interest in this project. I look forward to
your guidance and the opportunity to contribute to GlossAPI.
Best regards,
Fares Shaaban
