1. What is SourceSupport.org?
SourceSupport.org provides a system to pay programmers, artists, content creators and just about anyone that
can provide a solution to challenges submitted by users. For example, let's say that there is a large
group of people out there that want 'Program X' ported over to 'Operating System Y'. First, someone
submits the challenge on SourceSupport.org. Others who see the challenge and are willing to donate
for the cause can submit any amount they want with the hope that the added funds will persuade someone
to come along and take on the challenge. Hopefully the challenge will be met and it becomes a win-win situation
for both the donors and the person/team that completed the challenge. The donors get 'Program X' running
on 'Operating System Y' and those who completed the challenge get paid. Finally a good way for a
Open Source programmer make some cash for their efforts.

2. How does it work?
SourceSupport.org allows people to submit a challenge to a problem by creating
requirements for a solution. While active, the challenge project will continue
to accumulate donations until either the challenge is resolved or the challenge
expires. Challenges are meet by a successful submission of a solution. Once submitted
the potential solution will be voted upon by previous donors to the challenge
for a period of 48-hours. After 48-hours, the votes are counted and if passed,
the challenge is closed and the person/group that solved the challenge are contacted
and the challenge donations will be sent.

3. How are the donations used?
Donations are processed by PayPal. PayPal takes a small fee for each donation(currently
$0.30 + 2.9%) which is deducted from the donation. Donations will go to the
person/group that successfully solves a challenge and passes a vote made by donors
of the challenge. If the challenge expires, the money is either credited
back to the original donor or sent to the recipient chosen by the donor upon submission.
For example, if the donor selected "Free Software Foundation" as a recipient if
the challenge expires, then that donation will go to that recipient. The expiration
date of a challenge is set by the original challenge submitter. When the expiration
time approaches, the donors will be contacted to vote on the extension of the
challenge. If that vote passes, an extra 6 months will be added to the expiration
date of the challenge. This process of extending the challenge will continue as
long as a successful voting cycle is made.

4. I have completed a solution to a challenge. How do I get paid?
You need to go to the page of the project you feel you have a solution to and select the 'Submit Solution'
link and fill out the solution submission form. You will have to submit a "Proof of Solution"
to the challenge. Also, it is required of the solution submitters to give a
US$10 ($10.00)
donation to help eliminate the number of false submissions to challenges. Since every solution submission
goes through a donor notification and voting process, we only want real solutions submitted.
Please make sure that you feel you have truly solved the challenge before making
your submission. No solution exists for a challenge until it successfully passes
the donor voting process. If your submission fails to pass the voting process,
then the challenge remains active until a successful submission passes the
vote.

5. If the submitter of a solution is not the actual person or team that solved the challenge, who gets the donations?
Solution submitters do not have to be the actual person or team that solved
the challenge, but they will not be eligible to receive the donation funds.
Only the actual person/group that solved the challenge are eligible to receive
the donation funds. After a solution passes the voting process(see #4) an
investigation as to who the receiver of the funds will begin. When the rightful
person/group is determined and contacted, the donation funds will be sent. In
the case of any dispute, SourceSupport.org retains the right to mark a challenge
as expired. If this happens, then the challenge will be closed and the recipient
selected by the individual donors will receive the funds.

6. Why do solution submitters have to donate to the project before they can submit?
The donation requirement of solution submitters is in place to help eliminate the number of false solution claims.
All donors of a challenge are contacted and given the opportunity to vote on solution submissions, therefore
we do not want to burden these donors will a bunch of false claims.

7. What happens when a challenge is about to expire?
48-hours before a challenge is scheduled to expire, the donors of that challenge
will be given the opportunity to vote to delay the expiration by 6 months. If
that vote fails, the challenge will be closed and the funds will be distributed
to the recipients selected by each donor.
