I hope you are well. My name is Alejandro and I am really interested in participating in the Zeus project in this GSoC 2018. I have read the project’s description at the GSOC2018 Projects page and have some background in cryptography (although no specifically in e-voting) in C, C++ and Python. I have taken a glance at the zeus github repository, and read the Helios documentation. I am also familiarizing with the Weld framework. However, I have some doubts I would appreciate you can help me with: -What are the fundamental cryptographic concepts we should revise, besides el Gamal, Sako-Kilian protocol, and HVZK? -What steps or guide you think are best to approach this specific project? - In the projects description you mentioned, that on last year’s GSoC a Zero-Knowledge Shuffle mechanism in C/C+ was implemented. I assume we will construct over that code. I skimmed through the github repository and was not able to find the code, could you please point me in the right direction? - For testing the shuffle mechanism, what is the easiest way to deploy Zeus? Any help you can provide will be extremely useful! Greetings, Alejandro
