Και τώρα γενικά ενθαρρύνουν το απλό ASCII, αλλά βέβαια για τα Ελληνικά αυτό δε δουλεύει. Γενικά θέλουν κάτι στον ελάχιστο κοινό παρονομαστή, αλλά δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα να υπάρχουν για το ίδιο βιβλίο πολλές εκδόσεις. Έτσι, μπορεί να υπάρχει μια έκδοση σε ISO 8859-7 και μια σε UTF-8. Ή ίσως τώρα πια να είναι αποδεκτό και μόνο το UTF-8 - να πω την αλήθεια, ούτε εγώ έχω ασχοληθεί ιδιαίτερα... So it is now the norm for producers to submit texts in higher character sets like the ISO-8859 family or Unicode, and we down-shift it to post both that as an ASCII version during posting.
