that is a theoretical view that is not seen in real life examples.
in our case, the only "calculations" are the checksum computations.
a two--line example shows no difference in time between a C implementation
and a Python one:
time md5sum file
time python3 -c 'import hashlib;import sys; with open(sys.argv[1], "rb") as f: print(hashlib.md5(f.read()).hexdigest())' file
please perform actual measurements and have facts ready to back up claims.
